Easy Summer Mantel & Vignette Ideas

Today I am sharing my simple summer mantel decor and the summer vignette decor in our dining room as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Summer Series: Summer Mantels and Summer Vignettes.

Hello, friends! What’s the school schedule where you live? Is it almost officially the start of summer vacation, or do you have another month to go?

This week I’ve been seeing all kinds of my blogging friends on Instagram and Facebook sharing that their kids are done (or almost done) school! And I’m like, “whaaaaaaaat?!?!?”! We have another month still!! But then, we don’t go back until the Tuesday after Labour Day in September, so to be honest I can’t be too jealous. Who wants to be going back to school in August, amIright?!

But all of these recent posts have made me realize that it is truly summer where many people live. Like… not just the long approach to summer (as June is here). But totally completely summer weather.

And, honestly? We’ve had the best May weather on record for many years (so my morning radio program informs me), so I have to admit I’m feeling pretty summer-like myself. This Seasonal Simplicity summer series is right on time! And today, I’m sharing some summery changes to our living and dining room with our summer mantel and the summer vignette on our dining room buffet…

We generally keep our living room fireplace mantel fairly simple since it also houses the main TV in our home, but I managed to sneak a few blue beachy accessories onto it for summer this year…

I made the felt ball garland last year and shared the tutorial here. The whale was found in (can you believe it?!?!) Zurich, Switzerland. How weird is that? One of my favourite beachy decor items… collected in a completely landlocked European country? You just never know, right. That why you’ve got to keep your eyes open… and go with it when it’s right (at least, that’s what I tell my husband when I have to pack these kinds of things home from foreign countries).

In the dining room I decorated our new dark indigo buffet cabinet (can you believe it’s from Costco? I still can’t!)…

Easy, cute and full of summer fun feel, right?? Now today I’ve gathered such an awesome group of my fellow bloggers to share their summer mantel or vignette ideas with you! I think you will truly love all this gorgeous inspiration…

I’m so excited that the Seasonal Simplicity series is back again; and this time it’s to celebrate Summer! Today I’ve joined up with a talented group of bloggers to share our simple and beautiful summer mantel {or summer vignette} ideas with you! Enjoy the inspiration…
