Rustic Elegant Fall Vignette with DIY Acorn Garland

Today I’m sharing a simple rustic but elegant fall vignette with a DIY acorn garland craft to help inspire your fall decorating ideas.

Isn’t amazing what you can find at Costco sometimes? Like this cabinet! It might be my new favourite piece… I just love the detailing on the glass doors. I spotted it last winter, and probably went back to look at it four or five times before I convinced the hubs we should get it. I can tell you, it was quite an effort to get it into the house… it involved a skateboard-as-a-makeshift-dolly. But it worked!

Although the dark blue is quite a heavy colour, I think that it works well with all the white and blue we have flowing throughout our house. Plus, it makes for a fantastic piece to decorate for the seasons!

Today I’m sharing how I decorated it for fall with a rustic elegant vintage style…incorporating a little DIY acorn and pine cone garland that I whipped up this past weekend, as part of the Seasonal Simplicity fall series: Mantel and Vignette decor!

I love how beautifully rustic elements fit into fall decor. It’s so natural to have wheat and acorns and pine cones littered all over during this season. Yet they seem perfectly at home with velvet pumpkins and fretwork design. Such a great eclectic mix…

Tomorrow I’m sharing my DIY of this beautiful little acorn and pine cone garland – it was such a fun and easy project, and it really elevated the feel of this whole vignette.
