White Scandi Farmhouse Christmas Tree Decor

Today I’m sharing my white Scandi farmhouse style Christmas tree decor ideas as part of the My Home Style Christmas Tree blog hop series.

This year I challenged myself to keep any kind of Christmas decor purchases to a minimum and to work with what we already own in new and creative ways.  The goal is to give our Christmas decor a fresh look while using things that we’ve used the past few years.  One thing that we did decide to purchase was a new 7.5′ Christmas tree, as we sold our old 9′ green tree with our old house (it wouldn’t have fit in this house with it’s 8′ ceilings anyhow).

Since we already have a flocked tree, I was really craving a classic green Christmas tree as our taller/main tree.  I’m not sure why… perhaps it goes back to my Christmas of childhood past.  But I also wanted it to feel light and bright to contrast with the dark greys and pops of Christmas colour.  I can’t wait to show you how this whole space is turning out; but today I’m sharing the first major sneak peak at this year’s Christmas decor: our white Scandi farmhouse Christmas tree decor!

Today I’m excited to be part of a Christmas tree style hop hosted by my friend Stephanie from Casa Watkins Living.  All week long, bloggers are sharing the details about their Christmas tree decor style – I know you will find some amazing ideas and holiday inspiration! Make sure to check the bottom of today’s post to see who else is sharing and pop over to their blogs to take their “tree tour”!

This year for our Christmas tree I went with a mostly white scheme with some natural/neutral ornaments thrown in for texture.  I love the contrast of all the white against the green tree.  Instead of a ribbon or garland I used microfibre dusters from the dollar store.  I simply remove the plastic handles from and bend to shape – I learned this trick from my friend Lucy.

The ornaments and finishings I added to the tree to create a white/farmhouse/Scandi feel…

So you see, the white Scandi Farmhouse look is easily created by using a mix of white and some natural textures and tones.  Plus, a good measure of oversized ornaments and deer-oriented designs.  Snowflakes, birds, little houses…skis, skates, and some classic Christmas wording.  I love how it turned out!

The fluffy feather-duster garland truly does break up all that green and lightens up the whole tree. The white ornaments wouldn’t pop nearly as much on a flocked tree like in my previous tree decor

Lovely, light and bright… a rustic decor style that I always gravitate towards!
