Clean Cozy Neutral Winter Decorating Ideas
Happy New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful NYE and Day with your family! Now that the last of the holidays is over, it’s time for me to get back to reality…
I have to admit that I’m sitting writing this post with a house that is “almost” stripped of Christmas decor, but one that is nowhere near cleaned up.
There are piles of Christmas pillows and decor items on the table beside me. The leftover candy canes are strewn across the kitchen counter. And there are two trees left to de-decorate.
Is that even a word?
And as I look around at the blank walls (because all my Christmas art and wreaths are also piled beside me on the dining table)… I feel a little lost. Do you ever feel a little bit confused about how to decorate once you “take down” Christmas.
I mean, I love decorating for Spring. Then summer. Fall. And finally Christmas… but come January and February I’m less certain.
And this year (as I’ll be sharing soon), I want to spend the next several weeks on REALLy purging and organizing our home. So I don’t want a ton of extra stuff around. But let’s me honest. I’m no minimalist either.
So I took the my favourite source Pinterest for winter decor inspiration (I’m keeping a board on it here); and I’ve gathered together some great ideas for this most difficult (or perhaps, most simple?) decor season.
The essentials elements of winter decorating seem to be bringing in warm textures (fur and wool throws and pillows), and lots of natural and neutral elements (pine cones, branches, evergreen greenery). And it seems that winter decor is very much full of neutrals.
