Ensuring your Kitchen Spring Clean is Deep Clean {with free printable checklist!}
I am sharing my tips for making sure you kitchen is spring clean with a deep clean!
This post is brought to you by Finish and The Co.
Spring.
It’s not all pretty flowers and rainbows.
For many of us, including myself, it means time to tackle some of those less-then-savory tough cleaning jobs that you’ve been avoiding all winter.
Since we often spend a lot more time in our homes during the winter months, there can be quite a build up of jobs that need doing. In addition to the usual moving furniture/dusting/cleaning light fixtures/wiping baseboards types of jobs, I also like to give the kitchen a good deep clean.
In the kitchen I usually like to:
- wipe down the walls and tile
- clean the hood fan filter and replace it if needed
- pull out the fridge and clean behind it
- wipe out the pantry
- clean the oven and stove top
- clear out and get rid of old food in the fridge and freezer
- defrost and wipe out the freezer
- give the fridge, including all the fridge drawers a thorough wash
- clean the toaster
- descale the coffee maker
- clean the dishwasher
I made up this free printable checklist to follow along with and I’m sharing it today to help you with your spring cleaning in the kitchen!

It’s kind of gross to think about cleaning your dishes in a machine that is caked with bits of food and covered with a film of scunge. And even though it may seem like your dishwasher should be clean, because it has water and soap run through it daily; day after day, lime scale and grease build up in its hidden and vital parts: the filters, the spray arms, the pipes. Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner eliminates all that!
This is my dishwasher was looking after the winter:
In the past I have used Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner to get my dishwasher sparkling clean again. Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner has a powerful formula with 5x Power Actions that help maintain your machine, remove limescale, clear grease, clean hidden parts and freshen your dishwasher. It makes your machine all clean, shiny and like-new again! And, it’s really afforable (usually less then $5) and available at all kinds of common retailers like Loblaws, Walmart, RCSS, Canadian Tire, No Frills, Sobeys, Metro, Food Basics, and Fresh Co. I picked mine up at our local Walmart store.
It is super simple to use. You just peel the tab off the top, pop it into the dishwasher in the top rack over top of a spoke, and then run it on high with your hottest sanitizing cycle…
You just let the dishwasher cycle run, and then I like to go in and wipe it down/dry it off with a dish towel to see how sparkling clean and fresh it looks.
Like new!
Isn’t that awesome?

Great tip, Krista! Never thought of cleaning my dishwasher!
I seriously had no idea that I needed to be cleaning the inside of my dishwasher! Amazing the difference it makes!
I use the dishwasher cleaner every couple of months to keep mine clean, Tasha tells me that I suck at cleaning I don’t do it good enough for her I say if you don’t like what I do, do it yourself
