Why We Love Our Frigidaire Gallery Line Appliances

Today I’m excited to share my honest review of the Frigidaire Gallery Appliances that we used in our new kitchen renovation.

A kitchen renovation requires a huge number of decisions to be made and the entire process can be completely overwhelming.  The number of options available and possible combinations of these options is can feel infinite, and getting it all “right” can quickly become overwhelming. From deciding on big things like your layout, cabinets, appliances, flooring, and countertops, down to smaller things like faucets, hardware, and lighting, it can be a daunting task.

That’s why I was so happy to know that I had at least one decision made before we even began this process.  After knowing how much we had loved our Frigidaire Gallery Line appliances in our previous home (which we installed during that renovation), I knew that I would want to go with them again in this house, and am thrilled that we had the opportunity to partner with Frigidaire on this renovation.

I wanted to wait for a few months of owning and using these appliances before I wrote my honest review on them, as you learn a lot about appliances by using them on a daily basis compared to looking at them in the store.  I have to say that I have been thrilled again and again with them, and not just because I’m finally cooking with gas! Today I’m sharing all the reasons why I love the Frigidaire Gallery Line, and why I truly think you should seriously consider it the next time that you have appliances to purchase or replace.

Our Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator

Perhaps my favourite feature of our new Frigidaire® Gallery refrigerator is that has a middle drawer that can be temperature adjusted to vary between different kinds of foods. This drawer provides an amazing amount of storage space.  It can be used as a freezer, or adjusted to suit the refrigerator temperature needs of either deli snacks, meat/seafood, white wine, or cold drinks.  This is an awesome feature because there may be times when you need it to change based on your cooling needs.  For example, you could fit a large cake and extra cold beverages in the drawer if you were hosting a party.  We use ours on deli snacks most of the time and it houses all of our meats and cheeses and related items.

I also love the side storage compartments as they are super adjustable by height and width.  It helps to be able to move things around to accommodate all of our interior fridge organization needs. The shelves are also height adjustable, and some are even depth adjustable, so that you can store smaller things on the back of the shelf, and then it tucks part way into itself so you can store taller things (like jugs of milk) in front.  It also has large drawers for all of your produce, which we use all of.  You can really adjust the whole interior to suit exactly what you need!

And finally my favourite feature of it might be the ice maker and water dispenser! We have never had that in a fridge, and I love the ease of access, and how cold the water comes out.  It makes drinking water fun, and my boys are obsessed with the ice dispenser.  Actually, I should say that our dog is obsessed with the ice maker.  Every time she hears us using it, she comes running for an ice cube treat.

Our Frigidaire Gallery Double Wall Ovens

Having a double wall oven has long been a dream of mine.  We are the main hosts of family get-togethers, so we love having the ability to bake two or three different kinds of things (and on two different temperatures) when we have larger gatherings.  Now that I’ve had this feature, I don’t know if I would go back to a single oven if I can help it.

It preheats really quickly which is awesome because I’m often in a bit of a rush to get dinner on the table during the busy school week! You also get faster cooking by using the convection feature.  The powerful convection fan combined with a third heating element means that it cooks really evenly despite using two or even three of the cooking racks (we’ve tested it!).

The upper oven even has a built-in temperature probe that detects and alerts you when the finished cooking temperature has been reached!  It will automatically switch to the keep warm setting – what a feature, right?!

Our Frigidaire Gallery 36″ Gas Cooktop and 42″ Glass Canopy Island Hood

Now I’m cookin’ with gas! I love having a gas stove again, and the 36″ cooktop that we chose is the best stove top I’ve ever owned.

I really wanted to integrate a larger cooktop into this kitchen renovation and am so glad that we did! I love having the ability to easily cook up to three things at a time (or more, but I’ve never tried more than that).  I also like how the grates are continuous, so that if you need to slide a pot or pan over during or after cooking, it lets you move it easily without having to pick it right up.   The cooktop also has a special PowerPlus™ Burner that is super powerful and allows you to you saute, quickly boil, and perfectly sear anything!

The glass canopy hood is perfect for keeping the view as open as possible over our island.  We set it back a little from the cooktop itself so that we don’t accidentally bump our head on it while cooking.  It works so WELL when we need to  use it – the dual-centrifugal fans means that the air moves super efficiently which means we don’t have to run it for as long.  The four halogen lights are nice for extra lighting on the cooktop as well, I often turn them on while I’m preparing meals.  The filter being dishwasher-safe is super handy and because it’s aluminum it is more durable than foam filters.

Our Frigidaire Gallery 24″ Built-in Dishwasher

Speaking of dishwashers, I LOVE this one. I can’t believe HOW QUIET it is! I sometimes have to wait beside it and listen super closely just to make sure that it actually turned on because you can barely hear it.

I love the quick 30-minute cycle and use it often when the dishes aren’t super dirty, as it saves power and water.  It also uses about 15% less water than most other models to clean a full load.  When I run the full cycle, the dishes come out much dryer, which I love.  No more drying them with a dishtowel as I unload!

You can also set it in advance to run on schedule – from 1 hour up to 24 hours ahead of time!  Perfect if you want to run it during the day but not while you are having a shower in the morning and don’t want to risk forgetting on your way out the door…

Our Frigidaire Gallery Built-in Microwave

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about our microwave being down in the island and bending down to use it, but I knew I wanted to have it in a less prominent location.  I actually really love where it is located, now, and find it super convenient and easy to use.  Plus, it gives my back a little extra stretch that it desperately needs:)  I love the size of this microwave, as it has a ton of cooking space and fits full sized plates and even casserole dishes much better than I’ve ever had before.

It has over 30 settings, some of which are perfectly designed for quick things like baked potatoes, popcorn, chicken nuggets, or snacks.  Even my boys find it really easy to use (including my husband, who isn’t as much of a cook;).  And one of the coolest features is that it has a one touch keep warm button! This is awesome for those busy evenings when we have to eat at different times due to sports and activities.

Our Frigidaire Gallery Built-In Beverage Centre

This is probably the most “fun” appliance that we got to integrate into this kitchen design.  We love having this cute little beverage centre in our home, and it created a purpose in an otherwise odd and walk-through kind of space.  It is crazy how much fits in such a tiny fridge!  It can easily store 165 regular sized beverage cans (and can even stretch up to 195 cans if all of the space is dedicated to that!).

It’s really easy to adjust the temperature to suit your needs, depending whether you plan to store cans or wine.  I also love that there is an alert on the door so that if it gets “accidentally” left open, you are quickly alerted and can deal with it right away!

We are so happy with all of our new appliances and know we made the right choice, again, by going with the Frigidaire Gallery line, and having the chance to use and cook with them the past few months has solidified that feeling.  I am thankful every day for how well our kitchen renovation turned out (see the reveal part one and reveal part two here).  It was super disruptive and a ton of work, but well worth all of that now that we get to use it every single day!
