Mad about Plaid Christmas Style Series
Today I’m sharing Christmas Plaid Decor Ideas and inspiration for using plaid in your Christmas decorating: Mad about Plaid Christmas Style Series.
It’s got to be one of the most versatile fabrics around.
It can be relaxed or preppy.
Rustic or plaid chic.
Traditional or modern.
All of my Outlander reading friends will likely know that the word plaid originally meant a Celtic quilt or blanket used as an outer layer to protect the Scots from the inclement weather. But while we often think of Tartan as interchangeable with Plaid, Tartan actually refers to the specific pattern/design of plaid that distinguishes one Scottish clan group from another.
Fast forward hundreds of years later and plaid is hugely popular in both home decor and fashion.
Plaid in it’s many, many variations can work in so many beautiful and different design styles and is definitely a staple in a traditional and classic Christmas decor.
Nothing quite sets the tone for a cozy Christmas home like red plaids.
I also have a Pinterest Board dedicated to Plaid Christmas Decor Ideas and Inspiration, Printables, DIYs and Crafts that I continue to add to as I find more holiday ideas and inspiration.
