Thanksgiving Table Decor Ideas (with Free Printable Thanksgiving Conversation Starters)
Today I’m sharing some Thanksgiving table decor ideas with a simple fall table decorated for a thanksgiving gathering, including some fun free printable Thanksgiving conversation starter cards.
This coming weekend is Thanksgiving (here in Canada) and we’ve got not only two family dinners over the weekend but it’s also my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary party! Of course, we aren’t hosting ALL of that, but it will be a busy and fun weekend full of family time. I love that we get to enjoy Thanksgiving in October, as it always feels like the perfect way to begin the transition back into the cozy months of fall and winter.
Fall Weather
We’ve had absolutely gorgeous autumn weather leading up to Thanksgiving this year. Crisp and clear with the sky full of green-yellow-red leaves popping against the clear blue sky. Even the brightest days of summer would find it hard to compete against a sunny autumn afternoon. And this gorgeous fall weather is what has inspired me to bring the outdoors in for this Thanksgiving table decor…
This tablescape is full of simple details that don’t cost a fortune or take much time to gather…
Leaves trimmed off the trees from the nearby forest.
White decorative pumpkins and dried corn sourced from other areas of the house.
Repurposing a beautiful throw blanket as a tablecloth.
Grounding our Pfaltzgraff dishes with simple basket style placemats.
Topped off with my DIY two-sided napkins tied with some simple jute twine and trimmed with a couple of sprigs of fall berries (sourced from my fall bin).
You can see a little glimpse of our newly transformed kitchen (renovation now complete!) over to the right. I shared Part One of our kitchen reveal the other day, and I’ll be sharing the full kitchen reveal on Monday!
I made these fun Thanksgiving conversation starter cards to put at each place setting, as I think it’s an interesting way to keep the conversation focused on thankfulness and gratitude, but also to lighten things up with a few fun conversation ideas. I thought it would be fun to have each person take a turn sharing their own answers, but then also encourage other’s to chip in with how’d they’d answer that question as well. See below for how you can print you own!
Oh! Here’s another little sneak peak! Head over here for Part One of our kitchen reveal but then come back on Monday to see the rest of it!
Wine from a couple of my favourite B.C. Okanagan Vineyards. Two years in a row we’ve ventured to the Okanagan in the summertime and brought back a few boxes from various vineyards to enjoy throughout the year.
After a VERY busy start to school (and working full time again, which I haven’t done for several years), I’m really looking forward to a three day weekend and to catching up on some family and friend time!
I’m also sharing these Thanksgiving Dinner Conversation Starter cards for my email subscribers…
