Affordable Coastal Outdoor Lighting Update

Today I’m sharing our new affordable coastal outdoor lighting update with beautiful outdoor lights from build.com that help finish off our newly re-sided exterior beautifully.

Good morning, friends! I hope that your summer is going well! We’ve been busy with out of town visitors and a mini-vacation to beautiful Tofino, BC. Have you ever been or heard of it? It’s an adorable little coastal village with incredible, long sandy beaches and fantastic surf, just an hour and a half away from here. We had a fabulous time, and I’ll share more about that soon, but for today I have some awesome coastal inspiration for you in the form of exterior lighting!

As our carpenter was working his way around our house replacing our siding, we decided to change the lighting on the front of the garage in order to add much more interest and character to it. We had one super boring builder basic flood light up near the peak of the home garage, but really wanted to add a sconce light to either side of the garage doors. Because the wiring was quite readily available, we were able to add these beauties by accessing the attic space, and then selected some stylish, new coastal inspired caged lantern sconces to illuminate either side of the garage. We also replaced the builder-basic flood light with a new gooseneck style oversized fixture which I think is really the crowning glory of the whole thing…

We were super excited to partner with build.com on this light fixture overhaul, and ordered two different types of exterior fixtures from build.com; matching sconces for either side of the garage and a larger gooseneck style fixture for the top peak (I’ve shared exact links to these fixtures further down in the post).

The combination of the new fixtures and siding gives our house a completely refreshed feel!

Do you remember the before?

And now!

I love the simple, coastal feel of these outdoor sconces and think they are the perfect finishing touch for our exterior makeover.

The last thing left to do on the front of the house is update the garage doors… I’m still working on what to do there.
